4917259 Sgt John Shorthose, 7th Bn, South Staffordshire Regt

D-Day + 2. The UK Army Roll of Honour notes that 4917259 Sergeant John F Shorthose died on the 8th June 1944. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission however, notes that John Edward Shorthose, the son of William and Annie Shorthose, of Burntwood, Staffordshire, died on the 8th July 1944. He was 23 years old and is buried in Brouay War Cemetery.
