3959696 Pte John J Fenelon, 7th Bn, Hants Regt

3959696 Private John Jospeh Fenelon of the 7th Battalion, Hampshire Regiment, was one of nearly 400 men to die on this day in 1944. He was 20 years old, the son of Patrick and Ellen Fenelon, of Dovecot, Liverpool. John had originally joined the Welch Regiment and later transferred to the Hampshires. He is buried in Hottot-les-Bagues War Cemetery in France,

3962022 Gnr Harry Cleaver, RA

According to the UK Army Roll of Honour, 3962022 Gnr Harry Cleaver of the Royal Artillery, originally joined the Welch Regiment, later transferring to the 4th Field Regiment, RA. He was a Welshman, born and bred in Cardiff, who lost his life in the Far East campaign in India and Burma. He was 24 years old, the son of Alfred Henry and Annie Rebecca Cleaver of Ely, Cardiff. He is buried in the Imphal War Cemetery in India.
