14314503 Private Denis O'Hara of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps died in India on the 17th March 1945. He was 21 years old, the son of David and Catherine O'Hara, of Glasgow. He is buried in the Imphal War Cemetery in Manipur.

947602 Bombardier George Herbert Haslem of 129 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery, died on the 25th February 1944. A native of Halifax, George was the son of Harold and Beatrice Maud Haslem, and the husband of Muriel Haslem of Gomersal in Yorkshire. He was 25 years old at the time of his death and is buried in Imphal War Cemetery in Manipur, India.

4131223 Gnr Harold Gilligan, Royal Artillery

Twenty-two year-old 4131223 Gunner Harold Gilligan of the Royal Artillery, died on the 8th January 1943. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission tells us that he was 22 years old; the son of Thomas and Agnes Gilligan, of Manchester, and the young husband of Kathleen Gilligan, of Chorlton-upon-Medlock, Manchester. He was serving with 87 Battery, the 24th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, ast the time of his death.

Harold Gilligan is buried in Guahati War Cemetery in India, one of 498 identified casualties there.

3244348 Rfm John McFall, 1st Bn Cameronians (Scottish Rifles)

3244348 Rifleman John McFall of the 1st Battalion Cameronians (Scottish Rifles), died on the 9th November 1940 in India. He was 25 years old.

John was born in Antrim but living in Glasgow when he enlisted. He is buried in the Madras War Cemetery in Chennai. This from the the Commonwealth War Graves Commission:

"MADRAS WAR CEMETERY was created to receive Second World War graves from many civil and cantonment cemeteries in the south and east of India where their permanent maintenance could not be assured. The cemetery contains 856 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War. The MADRAS 1914-1918 MEMORIAL is situated at the rear of the cemetery. It bears the names of more than 1,000 servicemen who died during the First World War who lie in many civil and cantonment cemeteries in various parts of India where it is not possible to maintain their graves in perpetuity."

Captain William Ernest Wanstall Beerling, Indian Army Ordnance Corps

Captain William Ernest Wanstall Beerling of the Indian Army Ordnance Corps died on 20th September 1941. He was born in Kent but living in Dundee when he enlisted. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission notes that he was 38 years old when he died and was the son of William and Kate Beerling and the husband of Gladys Harald Beerling of Broughty Ferry, Angus.

William Beerling died in India and is buried in Delhi War Cemetery; grave reference 1.A.9.
