2761350 Private Robert Erskine Anderson Doig of the 8th Battalion, Black Watch (Royal Highlanders), died in Scotland on the 29th June 1940. He was 45 years old, the son of Robert and Agnes Doig, and the husband of Margaret Doig, of Leven. He is buried in Scoonie Cemetery in Fifeshire.

Dundee-born 2750050 Sergeant John Anderson McGuggon of the Army Catering Corps, attached to the 15th Battalion, The Black Watch, died on the 8th May 1943. He is commemorated on the Suez War Memorial.

2760765 Corporal Bertie Bex of the 1st Battalion, Black Watch, died on the 29th March 1943. He was 27 years old, the son of Bertie and Martha Ann Bex, and the husband of Eve Bex of Shildon, County Durham. He is buried in the Heliopolis War Cemetery in Egypt.

7020831 Pte David Gillender, 7th Bn, Black Watch

According to the UK Army Roll of Honour 1939-45, 7020831 Pte David Gillender of the 7th Battalion, The Black Watch died on the 23rd October 1942. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is less certain and records only that he died between the 23rd and 24th October 1942.

David was the son of Robert and Jane Gillender of Belfast, Northern Ireland and he died in the fighting around El Alamein. He is buried in the El Alamein War Cemetery.
