5830607 Pte George W Groom, 5th Bn, Suffolk Regt

5830607 Private George William Groom of the Suffolk Regiment, died as a prisoner of war of the Japanese on the 18th October 1943. He was 24 years old, the son of Alfred George and Sarah Ann Groom, of Hitcham, Suffolk. He is buried in Chungkai War Cemetery in Thailand.
