W/9121 Volunteer Eileen Elsie Stimson, Auxiliary Territorial Service

W/9121 Volunteer Eileen Stimson of the Auxiliary Territorial Service, died on the 1st January 1940. She was one of eight UK army personnel to die on New Year's Day in 1940.

Eileen Stimson was 21 years old when she died. She was the daughter of James and Caroline Stimson, of Finsbury Park in London and her brother James John Stimson would also died on active service in 1943 whilst serving with the Buffs.

Eileen Stimson is buried in Highgate Cemetery, London.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.
